Aswad Thomas: Vice President of the Alliance for Safety and Justice and National Director of Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice
Aswad currently serves as the Managing Director at Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice, a flagship project of Alliance for Safety and Justice; He is organizing a national network of crime survivors to include those most commonly affected by violence (including young men and women of color) to help elevate those voices in local, state and federal policymaking debates.
Aswad received an MSW, with a concentration in Community Organizing and a focused area of study in Urban Issues, from the University of Connecticut, and a B.A. in Business Management from Elms College.
Kelvin Young: RSS: RSS & Co-founder of Soul Care Love LLC
Kelvin speaks on addiction recovery to diverse audiences and facilitates private and group sound healing sessions nationwide. Passionate about holding space for healing, he’s known for his warm, loving, and down-to-earth approach. Kelvin Young is a Certified Sound Healer and Owner of Kelvin Young, LLC. He is also a person in sustained recovery which means Kelvin hasn’t used alcohol or any other drug to cope with his mental and emotional distress since March, 6th 2009. Kelvin received his recovery coaching training at CT Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) and Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) certification at Recovery University.
Anthony Edwards:
Anthony owns and operates his own Media company and has over 10 years of experience in cinematography. He has proven expertise in capturing compelling visuals and enhancing storytelling through cinematography. I have contributed successfully to different projects stemming from short films to commercials for small businesses. I am skilled in camera operation, lighting and post-production. As the owner of my Media Company I am not only a cinematographer I also oversee projects from conception to delivery, ensuring that the production is high-quality.
Steven Taylor : VP, Business Banking Officer – Liberty Bank
As a VP, Business Banking Officer, Steven is in charge of liaising with clients / prospects ensuring they
receive prompt and efficient service. Among his responsibilities include identifying the clients /
prospects needs, meeting their initial needs, answering inquiries, recommending other services to
deepen relationships, and addressing issues and concerns, resolving them in a timely matter. Moreover,
devise networking strategies to identify new business or client opportunities. Above all, essentially, build
positive relationships with clients while adhering to company policies and regulations.
Steven is a 2014 Quest graduate through Leadership Greater Hartford, 2015 Hartford Business Journal
40 under Forty honoree, and 2015 100 Men of Color honoree. Steven is also a member of Kappa Alpha
Psi Fraternity Inc, a Free & Accepted Mason and serves on 2 non-profit Board of Directors in the
communities he serves. Steven coaches youth football and basketball in Windsor where he resides with
his two children, Chloe & Steven Jr.
Steven earned his BSBA from Johnson C Smith University in Charlotte, NC and MBA from Albertus
Magnus College.
